So if you don't know yet I have a little class library that makes scanning with a auto document feeder easy. (http://adfwia.codeplex.com/)

I recently got a couple posts under my project discussions with this error. I had a good idea what the issue was since the library is a result of a project I worked on with WIA.

Simply =>

Your scanner is not connected
Or Not supported.

Another user who posted on the aforementioned discussion, fortified this judgement when he did some research.

It's unfortunate the error has to be so arcane!!

So a long time ago I had to do a project that involved getting images from a scanner with an auto document feeder. It was a challenge doing this with WIA but I found some code somewhere online and made it into a nice library.

Today I finally shared this library with the world here: http://adfwia.codeplex.com/

It includes the source under the MIT License, it also has a little test app you can play with.

Note: Some scanners have trouble with the DIP setting. If you get:

Unhandled Exception : Value does not fall within range.

Try a higher or lower DPI.
